Ok, I lied.
I was naive. I was never going to have enough time to keep up this blog whilst tour guiding. So, here I am, in Rome, wanting nothing more than to head off to the land of nod but I’m going to at least give a bit of an update on my movements.
I got to Rome this morning after six weeks in Spain and Portugal. Those six weeks are probably my highlight of all my time guiding – I met wonderful people, saw amazing places and ate way too much food. I managed not to lose anyone in the winding lanes of Morocco, forgot most of my Dutch and replaced it with beginner’s Spanish, found a new appreciation for tinto de verano (no hangovers!), developed the best tan of my life and acquired a new nickname. Apparently my doppelganger is Dora the Explorer.
There’s heaps of this that I’m going to share on the blog. I’ve taken countless photos (of which the majority are food related) and one day I will find half-decent wifi so that I can share them all.
So stay tuned. Tomorrow I have my first day off in a month and instead of doing what I really should (sleep), I’m going to go and explore. La vita e bella!
